October

October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen. It is the distant hills once more in sight, and the enduring constellations above them once again.~ Hal Borland

October just so happens to be my favorite month. Troy and I will be happily celebrating our 14th. Anniversary this year and we have a lot to be thankful for. I am one lucky lady to have such an amazing husband.

We also celebrate my Granny Taz's wood cutting party in October.

What is a wood cutting party, you may be asking yourself?

Our family and friends get together to help fill Granny's wood shed for winter. A tradition that began after my grandfather passed away over 30 years ago. This year we had family fly in from all over the states(some we hadn't seen in 20 years) with many friends that were also in attendence. When the work is done and the shed has been filled we all enjoyed a healthy dose of homemade chicken & noodles. As the daylight dwindles we have a good time around the burn barrel under the Autumn stars.
Ahh...the true meaning of good clean living!
