No Destination

This past Labor day weekend we made an executive decision as a family to keep our 3 days of vacation as stress free as possible. This meant that all the school supply shopping was completed, house work was done, and we wouldn't be going on any major camping adventure but we would still have fun.

We woke up Saturday morning without a plan and decided we would head off to Sandpoint, hit a few yard sales along the way and stop in at the Farmers Market to visit my friend Toni from Four Seasons farm.

It was a beautiful day for market and there seemed to be a lot of other people who had the same idea that we had. We purchased Garlic, Salsa peppers, Italian herb artichoke and Parmesan bread, and the boys bought a bag of Kettle corn that was devoured in a matter of minutes.

From there we headed for the Funky Junk Antique Show. I purchased a vintage scale to weigh my produce for canning. A sweet little milk bottle that has a vintage lady and the saying "She is wise, she buys with her eyes" on it. We enjoyed the quaintness of the show and the live music.

Troy wasn't ready to call it a day... so we headed for Bonners Ferry. We stopped at a great Estate Sale and found a couple of fun items worth bringing home.We strolled the streets of small town U.S.A and checked out all the little shops.

Under the Sun had a great old mercantile atmosphere

After working up an appetite we stopped in a little 50's style restaurant and had a bite to eat.

We had a great day... enjoyed one anothers company...and savored our last days of Summer together!
